Minister for Transport announces negotiations on future rail contract with GoCollective

The Danish Minister for Transport has announced his intention to enter into negotiations with GoCollective on the future rail contract between the Ministry and the train operator. GoCollective has today Monday, 16 September, been invited to a meeting at the Ministry of Transport on Tuesday, 17 September.

While no final decision has been taken, the political signal has been that the Ministry seeks a smooth transfer of GoCollective’s contract to another operator, with uninterrupted train operations during the transition period. The Minister also underlined that a transfer would involve significant costs, as that would imply the ministry purchasing GoCollective’s rolling stock.

Marianne Bøttger, CEO of GoCollective, comments:

“We have been in ongoing dialogue with the Ministry of Transport and have clearly set out the challenges we face as a train operator. We welcome the focus on passengers’ needs, whatever solution we jointly reach. For more than 20 years, we have operated public transport in Denmark and built a reputation as a robust and reliable partner — and we intend to remain so.”
